Regarding a family room with a fireplace, where do you put the TV?? I've never been a fan of the TV over the fireplace, but in the space of our floor plans, there's just not an obvious place for it.
I prefer a beautiful mirror over it, with ya know, bookshelves flanking each side.
From these images, the TV looks fine over it, but I also don't want to be straining your neck from the lower seating.
Suggestions??
Steph, My husband insisted the TV go above the fireplace to save room in our house and to be honest, he was right. It's freed up a ton of space and I've never noticed us straining to look up. I've also tried to decorate the mantle on either side the same as I would if it were a mirror or something and I think it's fine and still leaves lots of options. we just bought a mount that can tilt down a little and it's fine. I kinda like it in the winter when the fire is going :) PS I live just up the street from sleepy ridge! We're kinda like neighbors!!!
