joss & main today

I am totally drooling over these sofas & chairs, on sale at Joss & Main. The plush jewel tones are drawing me in!

get fit

Well here's my random fitness post of the week.
My hobbies lie in decorating and fitness if you didn't notice. Basically I love to see things transformed into something better. Don't we all love a great makeover?
Anyhow, have you been watching the Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition? Amazing.. as if Chris Powell wasn't reason enough to start watching it....
wowza
The show is so inspiring. It's great to watch Bachelorette and see skinny little Ashley and then next see big obese people losing weight, you think.. why the hell am I eating this ice cream right now?! Please, I can't be the only person catching myself in this ;)

So I kinda happen to love this quote. Babysteps, my friends. Getting fit is not a race, but a lifestyle.

Um can we say amazing.
What are our excuses?! I'm pretty sure working out is inconvenient for most of us. And time-consuming. And redundant. And uncomfortable. Try it with only one leg...
Did you just get down and do 50 push-ups too? I sure did! Kinda regretting skipping my workout today...

lucy lucite

Yup, I'm still slightly obsessed with lucite. And ya know what? It's kinda hard to find! For a decent price anyways. Does anyone know of any affordable sites?? I've found a few things on overstock, and ghost chairs on amazon, but that's kind of the extent of it for me.
House Beautiful says,

"Every designer will tell you: Just one piece of clear acrylic furniture will shake up any room in any style. It's the one-piece makeover..."

Maybe not every designer, but I agree that it does shake up the room and can make areas look bigger (and just more chic!)
Let's play I spy Lucite!

wonder where it could be...? =)

Red-iculous

Now I've gone on rampages on here about how I'm over the brown and red trend. But it can be done right! K so this space I found on a random google search, looking for coral lamps, as in the color coral.
And I was served coral sconces. Which I now totally love and had never seen them or even thought them up in my head..
This space is all neutral.. and whatever that's cool, but the pops of red just make it SO much more interesting!
K that back wall is also extremely awesome

Unrelated, but while we're speaking of red, here's some fun things I've stashed away in my "goodies" folder pertaining to red:
K these little side tables are everywhere.. and I happen to hate them. But transformed into a glossy red?! Awesome. And that wallpaper it's up against is maybe even more awesome.

And painted bookshelves are nothing new, neither is painting the inside, but this looks like grasscloth wallpaper and i LOVE it.

goin global

Have you also seen this trend? I love the idea of vintage globes, with those turquoise colors. I mean, really, a collection of anything makes quite a statement... Would I do it? Eh, I'm on the fence, but I think it's just weird in the kitchen! Take a look...

This is really cute I must say

Really love this one too. And I just realized this looks great because of the round shapes, and also because it's tricky trying to "fill" that space above shelving.

Fun!

Aaaaaand this is the weirdness I'm talkin about...

This one passes.. I can't imagine what else I'd put atop those moldings! (NO silk plants please!)
So is this a trend where everyone is gonna jump on the bandwagon, and it's gonna get really old fast? Or is this still new and cute and fun?

apologies

I don't know how many really "faithful" readers follow this here blog thing of mine but if you do and have been disappointed by lack of posts and anything exciting, apologies!
The fact of the matter is- I'm bored. Unmotivated and uninspired and kind of itching to go back to Utah where I have more of a "home." (Loose definition of home- I don't want to stay there long either!)
But I'm here because...
Yes I admit I'd rather see him everyday than to have a cute house all by myself back in Utah!

And you know what else I'm finding?...
 Think that's true?? =)
Also true, isn't it? I often wonder, why do I even get ready since I'm the only one that sees myself?! I suppose I'm kinda girly and I don't like to pass the mirror and be horrified, so yes I still get ready, but I have plenty of days when I feel like this...
Today is another one of those days...
But enough about ME! How's your day going? =;)

the oSbOuRnEs

I dunno about you but I get very curious to see what celeb houses look like. And I was quite surprised that I LOVED Sharon & Ozzy's new LA home, designed by Martyn Lawrence. I guess I imagined it being more goth, but then again Sharon is so very classy. This house is freaking amazing...
