Peacock Inspiration

Cozumel, Mexico: peacocks walkin along the beach. Amazing! Their vibrant colors are so pretty and makes me reeeeeally want to see some more of that....daily if possible

That being said, I am absolutely in love with this color scheme. I have out of nowhere become this huge fan of peacock blue (I don't like blue, it's EVERYONE'S favorite color, not mine!) But paired with this green- which IS my favorite, and touches of gold and white is just GORGEOUS. 

I am determined to find the paint color for those walls. Since the walls are flat, they painted a nice gloss and shiny walls is pretty much like heaven to me. 

 And look at this faux bois rug!! I would sell my ARM to get that!

Amazing.. I'm thinking if we have a dining room in our next house, THIS is the direction I'll be heading  =)

So I found these chairs at roomservicestore.com with the same blue and green thing goin on and I love them. A little more modern mid-century than I'll probably go, but the oh the shape! The fabric! Love

I think it's about that time...

Soooo, I got a sewing machine for Christmas! Seems like a pretty legit one, and I was very excited. Now mind you, I haven't touched a sewing machine since I was, what, 12 when my mom tried to teach me how to make my own skirts. I've got lots of reviewing and learning (period) to do but I'm really excited because may I remind you I promised my husband I wouldn't buy anything more for our condo. But I never promised I wouldn't MAKE anything!! And our curtains we have goin on in our kitchen are horrendous. I'd post it but it's too embarrassing... I'll wait til there's a before and after so you can just appreciate the AFTER.

 Did a little browsing at the hancock today and found so many cute fabrics. Not matching my house at all, but cute nonetheless!

 This one is strange to me, but for some reason I like it. Folk-ish with reindeers and elephants?

 I really loved this color combo- coral with light pink, gray and cream. This would be adorable in a girl's room!

Heather's baby shoes

I love to showcase people and their talents, especially when it's something that I just couldn't pull off. My cousin, Heather just made these adorable baby shoes!

I'm looking at these thinking how in the world do you even go about making this?! I'm not a seamstress (yet) but I'm excited to learn how to actually use my sewing machine I just got for Christmas.
So Heather found the shoe pattern on etsy, and used wool felt for the inside, then glued that to a patterned fabric. It was both machine and hand-stitched. Love the colors.. one day (if/when) I have a girl, I will be calling Heather up!

I'm baaaaaack

Wow what a trip. 7 days of paradise on a cruise ship with no phones, no baby, no worries. BUT I did miss my little Carter and I'm actually quite glad to be back to reality... I just get way behind on my blog stalking.

So I'm obsessed with the interiors of Mary McDonald.. so clean but glamorous and lots of color. Here's some of my favorites! And yes I'm sure you've already seen most of these on mine (and especially others' blogs), but hey, they are totally worth seeing again!

I"m totally loving the black and white right now (obviously, I talk about it like every day). but here's got the punches of red that are spot on

Continuation of the maxx

I don't go to tj maxx everyday although it must appear that I do. Here's the thing.. I promised my hubs I would not buy anything more for our condo til next year when we move into a house. Such a resolution is waaaay too difficult so I'm just holding out as long as I can! But since I'm in arizona and there's a maxx across the street what's a decorator to do?! I went over in need of some shorts for our cruise (hooray by the way!) and I just can't resist looking at the furnishings. So we have some more delicious tj goods for your enjoyment. Now I post these so someone else cam go buy them since I can't ;)

Okay this is not tj maxx. This is from roomservicestore .com, one of my absolute favorite websites. I have been lusting after this desk for a WHILE, price tag is $1700. I gave up hopes of ever owning it.


Um hello cutesy side tables and desk EVER! The same desk at the maxx for $200.. I was beside myself.


Yeah she's such a beauty. How come MY tj maxx in Orem doesn't have awesome stuff like this?! Of yeah, cuz it's so picked over by people like me. Anyhow I want this and we NEED a desk for reals but then again I am being taken on vacation in 1.5 days, so I will dream on...
