Shabby chic teen room

Sometimes I get the itch to just put a room together.. still waiting for a chance to do it for reals! I stumbled across this rug and thought it could really be cute in a teen room, with a vintage but modern feel. The rug was the inspiration, and here's what I came up with:

I subscribe to a little magazine called House Beautiful. I look forward to its arrival every month, which is usually the only exciting thing the mailman brings for me!

Cute or what?! I wish I needed some new silverware because these would be so fun! They are acrylic and dishwasher safe, from this website. Wouldn't it be a cute and unique wedding gift?

Oh how I love Target

I know Target has gotten a little expensive, but compared to other home decor stores, they're pretty low. And they have come out with some of the cutest lines!  John Derian is their latest, and it can also be found on amazon.

Candice Olson

If you've ever watched HGTV I hope you've seen Divine Design by Candice Olson. I haven't watched it lately but there are some rooms that are AMAZING, especially this kitchen!
I remember seeing this episode and the finished made-over kitchen seriously took my breath away. It's neutral but anything but boring (I tend to love color for that reason). It's striking and glamorous especially with the chandeliers and fancy wallpaper. One day......

Gorgeous living room. I think Candice Olson definitely has a style to her work. She does a lot of neutrals with soft blue, but they end up being amazing and very sophisticated.

Love this. That surprising magenta wall is so cool.. not to mention that mirror!

If you haven't discovered the online phenomenon of all things homemade called etsy, it's time to get with it!  I could spend HOURS, DAYS even searching for the most random things that I never knew I "needed." And I recently found some cute jewelry from Mia. Funny story actually... shipping is usually pretty reasonable, but when I ordered this jewelry, I got an email from the seller saying she lives in Provo and would just bring them to me! (She turned out to be a friend of my husband's... who knew?!) I realized recently also that you can search locally to see what shops are near you and you wouldn't have to pay shipping at all =)
